Character Base

• Character Name: Nile Freeman
• Age: 27
• Canon (Date/Year Released)/Canon Point: The Old Guard (movie, July 10th, 2020), Canon Point: Near the end of the movie, where she jumped out of the window with Merrick. She has several months of Deerington CRAU since then.
• Items Coming Along:
1 - Old Attire: White tank top, blue/green/white jacket, jeans, marine boots, socks, underwear. Those these items were worse for the ware when she got there, they are nostalgic and still work.
2 - Just one Glock 19M (M007 conceal carry weapon) with one clip. The original weapon she came into Deerington with and never used.
3 - Gold cross necklace. Small and petite, and generally hidden under her shirt.
4 - Phone (useless) - holding photos of her family. Even if it runs out of charge, the fact she has it helps.
5 - Marine Dog tags. Worn on a ball chain around her neck for safe keeping.
6 - Photo of her father in a picture frame from her nightstand.
7 - Messenger gifted (October 2020) Black and blue tattered cloak with hood, neck and face mask, gloves, boots and standard attire.
8 - Messenger gifted (October 2020, see above link) Dagger with leather holster for hip.
9 - Messenger gifted (October 2020, see above link) Dragon hilt sword.
10 - Her Deerington House, preferably with the standard housing pieces and furnishing still there.

Content Warnings for Character: War, death, violence, death, fighting, mental/sanity things, death, guns, axes, swords, and other weapons, tortures and general gore. The show is violent though the blood and guts are not gratuities! The world is sort of like our current Earth, but Nile's personal world, as an immortal, is very bloody.

Original Deerington Application

• Additional Adjustments to include: This is a rundown of her stronger and more repeating connections she made and the impact of them in the Deerington setting.

Arrival: October 2020

It was an interesting adventure, seeing as last she remembered from home was falling to her death, the impact of the car, the pain and then she was someplace new? Her first real experience in Deerington was in a closet filling with blood, with a man named Raleigh. They worked well together, managing to get out of the blood situation, out of the hotel and cleaned up in the fountain at the side of the building before heading back to town. Something about the entire interaction forged a bond so tight and fast that she was actually closer to Raleigh than the people she had to work with back home. This was her first positive bond in game, one that will last until she left. She absolutely considers Raleigh to be her best friend and trusts him in many matters that came in the following months. Raleigh is the first person she opened up to and spoke about being immortal to as well. She has even been to his funeral, which was heart breaking. Raleigh and Nile often did sanity checks on each other. (Positive: Feeling like she mattered to someone here, finding footing with another Military person and bonding in general.)

Chuck too is something she considers to be a positive bond in game. She had ran into him in a bar, and he appeared to be covered in blood. She could only assume he had just dealt with a closet as well. They got to talking and Raleigh was mentioned, and the two seemed to get along well enough. It would take longer for her to bond with Chuck like she had with Raleigh, but in the end, because Chuck meant so much to her friend, and because Chuck is such a good guy, she considers him too a very good friend. Someone she can trust and just chat with. She's even been invited to Thanksgiving at the boys house that year. (Positive: Shared Experiences and Bonding)

Now, I know it's not exactly negative but her early experiences with Nicky (and 2), Joe and Booker (a bit later on) were all a bit uncertain. This wasn't because of them, really, but because of the uncertainty of where she was pulled from! Nicky was welcoming to her, but had been taken from a time that HE knew she stayed with them, where she herself did not know for sure what would happen. Joe was taken from a point that HE had no idea if she had stayed or not. So two of them had some level of uncertainty. Not only that, but considering all she had just gone through in such a short time, and that Nile was still unsure of what she would do about her family (having no idea that it would be taken care of, in the future), she felt... disconnected. They considered her Family. One of them. She was still finding her footing and where she belonged, as well as where she belonged WITH them. She tried hard not to hurt their feelings on the matter, but she was still very uneasy with the idea of abandoning her family. the fact that it did not matter here did help her relax a bit. In the end, things worked out much better, but then both men left shortly after. (Negative: Uncertainty in her life and existence caused her great discomfort.)

Booker was another matter. She knew Joe was very uncomfortable and upset with Booker, but Nile was still of the mind that they should at least all look out for each other? She reached out to Booker to help fill him in on the situation, learning they were all from different timelines. It was also from Booker that she learned that herhealing didn't work the same. After a while things with Nicky and Joe vs. Booker were odd and clearly they were not going to get along. Booker kept his distance, and Nile tried to keep in contact with him on the down low. When Joe and Nicky left, she felt an odd heavy weight of loss towards them, having started to get used to the idea of family in them. That left her Booker, to which she kept an eye on, and tried to keep in touch. (Negative + Positive: Uncertainty of character and confusion on what to do. Later leads to feeling the need to hold onto something from home.)

Outside of her closest bonds and her cast mates, she had a few other experiences with people that made an impact. Sara was someone she was starting to get to know and really liked. She found that Booker too was close (very close) to Sara, and that endeared her more to the woman. She enjoyed her company and even danced with her at the burning man like festival for a bit. (Positive: Getting out of her comfort zone, meeting new people, and feeling glad that Booker had someone he was close to.)

She once helped Lotar out of a pit of bodies, which later left the two of them to check in on each other from time to time. He seemed interesting and as if he needed a friend. Like perhaps he didn't have many in this place. So she tried to keep an eye out for him when weird events happened. (Positive: Realization that even strong people sometimes need help. This impacted her enough to open up to friends that she too was not doing okay.)

She also had an incident that left her upset and uncomfortable about her own abilities. After discovering her healing ability was skewed, she tried not to use it, but one oddly negative experience happened while leaving the safety of the library. Though the negative aspect had more to do with the situation and less to do with the kid. Walking with Ichigo had brought them to a wall of bodies, to which they struggled with a pile that tried to topple over onto them. Nile died there under the bodies, but her powers being warped in this place kicked in. Unfortunately because of how it worked (equivalent exchange of energy from living things) it nearly killed Ichigo! This experience made her unsure and uncertain about using her powers, which pushed her to be a bit less reckless in the months to come. Which kept her inside her home for a while. On top of that Ichigo disappeared shortly after, so she felt the loss there as well. (Negative: Guilt. So much guilt. Power problems just brought so much guilt.)

Her experiences in Deerington were both negative and positive. She was pulled from a strange point in her timeline where she knew she had died, but was unsure of her appearing in this town was a product of her death or something else. With Nicky's help she decided it was something else. She formed long lasting well kept bonds and no real enemies in her five month stay. Her only negative experiences were with the setting itself, and her uncertainty with her cast mates. She did not interact much with the people of the town (or NPCs), mostly trying to do her best to help others and keep an eye on those she had befriended or those she came to feel were family. When someone disappeared in the end it hit hard. She's still able to process loss, but something about being here and left behind still got to her. (Due to real life health problems, I was unable to Rp for a while as well, and in those moments Nile was generally put on auto pilot with the excuse that she was keeping a low profile. Oddly enough these generally coincided with someone leaving/dropping).

She was only there for five full months so she didn't "grow" too far from character. She's still a strong minded woman willing to sacrifice herself to help others, but it did give her a lot of feelings on people who were always there, or those who came and left. In her own reality, she had been hurt by 'friends' in her unit that snubbed her almost instantly with out even asking about what happened. Here she found that they were all on level ground. That they were all equally screwed here, so bonding was made easier than it was in reality.

Deer Country Attributes

• Canon Powers: In canon she has an Immortality and Healing ability (details in her Deerington Application). She is able to 'die' and regenerate back to life. Small wounds heal almost instantly. In Deerington this was warped to heal slower, but also to 'steal' life energy from others/plants/things in order to do it. Like an equivalent exchange kind of thing. When cut or wounded, energy from other things is needed. So plant life may die around her, or if a person is standing near by they may experience an energy drain until she is healed again. Same for returning from a death, though the energy taken is much more drastic and could lead to another's death. She can still die! In this new setting I am thinking if the fatality is minimal (drowning, suffocation, mild stabbing, blood loss) she can regenerate back to life (so long as energy is around her to steal), but if it's something more (or not enough energy around) and the Rot and Rebirth process begins, she will stay dead until properly returned to squid form. This leaves me with the fun of her canon powers but nerfs her enough to properly die in the games mechanics.
• Blood Type: Coldblood
• Omen: A Black Dog. A natural looking but very black fuzzy dog. A bit like the Grim in earth legends. A dog of Death. Because of her immortal nature and the ability to cheat death, I find the idea of her having a black dog, or Grim style dog to be amusing. He will be able to speak to her telepathically and will be the one to inform her that his name is Samael (an angel of death). She will most likely keep him as an external Omen and companion, once she learns of him.
• Blessed Day: April 15th. This is her approximate death day. The day is Fanon however, but it comes from the image on her phone which states its Sunday April 21st. Given the idea that it has only been a few days since they arrived to the safehouse/cave after Andy found her, her approximate death was the 15th of April. This does question travel speed and 'unseen' moments between scenes, but I'm just going to handwave things here. I Head Canon that her birthday was May 1st, but I feel like her death day is a stronger point now.
• Patron Pthumerian: Argonaut! She finds this kind of amusing. Argonaut seems to be the Patron of Hope but also rebirth in a way. Which, given her immortal ability to die and return, amuses her to a strange morbid point. Also, he's pretty adorable. The traits of "Unwavering hope, resilience, naive wonder, trust, curiousity." are all pretty spot on for Nile as well. She does believe in hope. She is resilient, especially with the Immortal thing, and she might be small but she is tough. She also has a bit of a naive attitude to some things, and is very trusting and curious. So it's fitting, especially for her Death Day.
• Blood Power Manifestation: I do not intend to do much with her Coldblood powers at the moment. I would like her to discover them by accident. In her Test Drive I stated that she was cut by pirates and bled bluish cold blood, but she was a bit out of it at that moment. I want her to learn more about the blood types and 'test' what hers is and what it can do on her own. Because of her canon powers I am not going to focus so much on her Blood Powers and am going to leave this as the weaker of the two, but I would also enjoy, at some point, her learning that one can apply Coldblood to a sword or dagger and turn it into a Flaming Sword. I also love the idea that in her monthly menstruation period will be cause her blood to be slightly stronger!
